[Bug 841662] New: Live CD fails to boot if second optical drive is installed
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841662 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841662#c0 Summary: Live CD fails to boot if second optical drive is installed Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Beta 1 Platform: All OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: Yarny@public-files.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=559378) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=559378) kiwi boot log User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 I tried to boot the current 13.1 beta1 KDE Live CD (openSUSE-Factory-KDE-Live-Build0725-x86_64.iso) in a VirtualBox (current version in openSUSE 12.3). If the VirtualBox has two IDE optical drives installed, booting fails with
Failed to mount root filesystem
Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create VirtualBox with two optical drives 2. "Insert" Live CD 3. Start machine The attached file is a copy of /var/log/boot.kiwi after booting with kiwidebug=1 parameter. If there is only one optical drive installed, which contains the CD, then booting succeeds, but boot messages suggest that the CD waits for a non-existing /dev/sr1 for some seconds during bootup. This is a regression to Milestone 4, where booting the KDE live CD with two optical drives worked fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is a regression to Milestone 4, where booting the KDE live CD with two optical drives worked fine. My memory failed me and I stand corrected: the bug also existed M4. Sorry.
