Unfortunately, I can't seem to reproduce the "Failed to kill control group" error. It only occurred once and has not happened again.

I vote for calling this issue fixed with your latest changes. If the "Failed to kill control group" error reoccurs and I can reliably reproduce it, I'll create a new issue.
