[Bug 251097] New: Can't configure Dual Monitors with SaX
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=251097 Summary: Can't configure Dual Monitors with SaX Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: mboman@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I've got 2 LCD monitors connected to my NVidia card, one via VGA and one via DVI. When I start SaX, it doesn't show my second monitor (on VGA) so I can't configure the second monitor. The SaX logs shows that it finds both monitors properly (attached). Tried to update SaX from the Build Service but to no avail. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=251097 ------- Comment #3 from mboman@novell.com 2007-03-05 02:16 MST ------- Marcus, That's funny, because the monitor that SaX sets up for me is the one connected via DVI. But if it's not suppose to work, then I'll go with the binary driver. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Stefan do I miss something ? Anyway dualhead doesn't work with the nv driver so it still makes sense to use the binary driver in your case -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=251097 ------- Comment #5 from sndirsch@novell.com 2007-03-05 02:43 MST ------- The nv driver can do DVI-out as long as it's a mode, which can be set by the VIDEOBIOS. But it's true, that the nv driver only supports Single-Head. This is a known limitation of the driver, which we can't fix. You need to switch to the NVIDIA driver for a dualhead setup. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
