I started the retail DVD and after the error 11 message (as above) I pressed return twice and continued with the ascii bootloader screen as described in the original report. Graphical installation continued without problems. Installed system boots, but I have no splash screen during boot. The first ascii message at boot is something like "Address allocation conflict for device ...", which gets overwritten so quickly by the next messages that I can't read it exactly. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Installation works OK following advise in the article, except that system will be booted without graphical screen and progress bar, but with ASCII messages only. This can be cured by modifying the bootloader settings in YaST: choose the correct VGA mode - in my case 0x31a System boots perfectly with these settings. 2. The first boot message on the screen which worried me (comment #3) is: [ 0.162777] pci 0000:00:04.0: BAR 6: address space collision on of device [0xfffe0000-0xffffffff] I've never seen this before during boot - is this something to worry about? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
