https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207765 Summary: ghostscript requires net-snmp Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com I just installed the ghostscript-library package on my server (LAMP, minimal otherwise) and was surprised that ghostscript-library requires net-snmp to be installed :-/ There were some more packages installed as dependency: ghostscript-library-8.15.2rc1-20.4 - the one I wanted libgimpprint-4.2.7-62 - required by ghostscript-library cups-libs-1.1.23-39 - required by ghostscript-library hplip-hpijs-0.9.7-19 - required by ghostscript-library net-snmp-5.3.0.1-21 - required by hplib-jpijs perl-TermReadKey-2.30-11 - required by net-snmp Please clean up the dependencies if possible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207765 jsmeix@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |INVALID ------- Comment #1 from jsmeix@novell.com 2006-10-04 01:45 MST ------- The dependencies are correct (if you want that all the Ghostscript printer drivers work out of the box). For a normal user it is not possible to select manually additional packages which are required by ony one driver (here the HPIJS driver requires net-snmp because it supports SNMP stuff for HP network printers). Some special magic in YaST to install additional packages ony when a particular printer model is set up is also not possible because then all the other printer setup tools (CUPS command line and web frontend, KDE printer setup tool, Gnome printer setup tool) would no longer work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
