[Bug 384085] New: Not Possible to Filter Only Installed Packages in Yast in Textmode
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=384085 Summary: Not Possible to Filter Only Installed Packages in Yast in Textmode Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harbrink@bluewin.ch QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer When using Yast in textmode, installing / updating packages via Software -> Software Management, it is not possible to set a filter to show only installed packages. (At least I didn't find it, so it's not obvious.) Normally I use this functions to show all installed packages and the update all listed packages, if a newer version is available. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There used to be filter "All installed packages" but I did not include it into refactored ncurses packager version. I guess I had it in my to-do list, but at the end this filter was not implemented, just to be consistent with Qt UI (which does not have it either). In Qt UI, you need to go to Package groups filter and pick the very last 'zzz All' item to see all installed packages, which is also not really intuitive. So I can do it the Qt way (for the sake of consistency), or give independent "All installed packages" filter a go. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Then I right-click on this selection and do a 'All in this list->update if newer version is available'. This doesn't work in ncurses, because in 'Installation Summary' there is no further selection possible. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Additionaly, this functionality is available in 'Repositories' filter, by selecting virtual '@System' repository, which represents local RPM database and shows all installed pkgs as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
