https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=888042 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=888042#c0 Summary: error installing nvida dirvers thru yast Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rjgsilva@gmail.com QAContact: sndirsch@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=599204) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=599204) printscreen of error User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 Hi! After adding "download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.1/" to repository when I try to install nvidia drivers thru yast2, the following error occur: "File './x86_64/nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop-331.79_k3.11.6_4-27.1.x86_64.rpm' not found on medium 'http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.1/'" Same thing happens when I try the "one-click installation" on this website http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers Went to check the files that exist on the repository url and it seems that there is something wrong with the package version, because the rpm filenames are "331.89_k3.11.6_4-28.1.x86_64" instead of "331.79_k3.11.6_4-27.1.x86_64" that the package is expecting. Thank you. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. add "download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.1/" to http repository 2. open yast2 and check installation summary for nvidia packages 3. press "accept" 4. press "continue" Actual Results: Error: "cannot access installation media..." "File './x86_64/nvidia-gfxG03-kmp-desktop-331.79_k3.11.6_4-27.1.x86_64.rpm' not found on medium 'http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.1/'" Expected Results: should have installed the nvidia drivers -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

RPMs have been updated whereas the meta files haven't (yet). Could be that this gets resolved itself (sync issue). https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=888042 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=888042#c6 --- Comment #6 from Daniel Dadap <ddadap@nvidia.com> 2014-07-21 14:20:16 UTC --- Yes, I can confirm that this is broken in the way that you describe on the FTP server. However, when I look at the internal staging server, the metadata files are correct. (visual inspection of the ungzipped filelists.xml.gz shows 331.89 internally, but 331.79 externally) Something must be wrong with the process that syncs the internal staging files to the external FTP servers. Looking at the timestamps on the FTP site, it does look like the metadata files from the previous repo update are still in place. The packages for the legacy driver releases also reflect the previous date; if I had to guess, I might say that perhaps a change was made to the sync process to make it look at file names, but perhaps not other attributes, since only the package files for the 331.89 drivers would have different file names from the previous contents of the repository. I'll follow up with our web content team; I suspect that the recent update to the SLE packages may have been affected as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I spot checked the repository metadata for the openSUSE 13.1 x86_64 repository just now, and the signature is valid. The FTP and HTTP copies appear to be identical now, as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
