So far I have set them up manually with e.g "ifconfig br0 192.168.10.2" "route add default gw 192.168.10.103" The devices all still showed with ifconfig but weren't configured as per /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-br0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The network.service is an alias link to either the wicked.service or the NetworkManager.service [no sysconfig-network any more]. One of them should be enabled via "systemctl enable ..." and they create the network.service link at this time. wicked.service [the "starter"] has a "Requisite=wickedd.service" to fail when wickedd is not running. But it also causes to restart wicked.service alias network.service at wickedd restart even not needed. Please try the following modification: --- /usr/lib/systemd/system/wicked.service +++ /usr/lib/systemd/system/wicked.service @@ -1,6 +1,5 @@ [Unit] Description=wicked managed network interfaces -Requisite=wickedd.service Wants=network.target After=wickedd.service Before=network.target call "systemctl --system daemon-reload" to apply it and then the problem should not happen. I'm going to apply it to wicked.git, it will be available first at: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/network:/wicked:/master/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

slipstream:/etc/sysconfig/network # cat ifcfg-br0 BRIDGE_FORWARDDELAY='0' BRIDGE_STP='on'
BTW: This is an invalid combination. forward-delay 0 is for STP=off. Minimal forward-delay setting is 2 (IEEE min is 4) with STP=on. That is either use BRIDGE_STP='off' or something like: BRIDGE_STP='on' BRIDGE_FORWARDDELAY='4' BRIDGE_HELLOTIME='1' BRIDGE_MAXAGE='6' See http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO/advanced-bridge.html -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi Marius, Hi!
I deleted -Requisite=wickedd.service and did "systemctl --system daemon-reload", network is still up.
We'll observe/test this and see which other changes we'll finally need, but the fix should already fix this "shutdown via back-dependency" upgrade issue. It is committed to wicked.git and I'm going to prepare for factory now. Closing it as fixed already. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
