BTW, KDE4 is rather slow on IA-64. Most issues are related to the bottom panel. In KDE4 Beta 2, there was a KDE Button in the bottom panel on all officially supported openSUSE architectures, but not on IA-64. Applications were thus launched through konsole. I don't know whether there still should be the KDE Button in the bottom panel in KDE4 Beta 3 or not, but it's missing on IA-64. On IA-64, the only item present in the bottom panel is a digital clock (Plasmoid?). It also seems to me that the klipper tray is misplaced: it's lying on the desktop; shouldn't it be located left to the digital clock in the bottom panel? IA-64 also seems to have the old KDE4 Beta 2 Desktop Toolbox located in the top left corner, rather than the new one in the top right corner. I know that IA-64 is not officially supported by openSUSE, only by SLED/SLES. But it could help fix issues on other supported architectures (particularly 64-bit ones). And sooner or later, SLED/SLES will be based on KDE4. So, the sooner we fix the bugs on openSUSE IA-64, the stronger SLED/SLES IA-64 will be.
