[Bug 1065847] New: libesd0 missing from openSUSE Tumbleweed software repository
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1065847 Bug ID: 1065847 Summary: libesd0 missing from openSUSE Tumbleweed software repository Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Upgrade Problems Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblast00@yahoo.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- The package libesd0 appears to have been removed in a recent openSUSE Tumbleweed snapshot. While the package still exists, it's marked as having only a 32bit version without a 64bit equivalent being present, and is no longer listed by the software manager in YaST. https://software.opensuse.org/package/libesd0 This package is still required as a dependency by other packages, such as the KVirc IRC client. Uninstalling it causes the program to no longer start, and as a workaround I had to temporarily re-add it from another repository. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

According to the package dependencies, it uses Phonon. Also, on my 42.3 system: $ ldd /usr/bin/kvirc | grep esd $ And it starts fine here if I delete libesd.so*. What kvirc package did you install from where? rpm -qi kvirc What phonon backend do you have installed/are you using? What error message do you get when running kvirc in a shell? (without libesd0 installed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
