Maybe the main-menu changed and broke the command. Does 'gnome-screensaver-command --lock' on the command line work? Logging in as first user from kdm with session GNOME, locking works. Starting from a KDE session a GNOME session on the next display locking in menu doesn't work. Running above command in a shell in that GNOME session works. After having run above command once the lock button in the main menu starts also to work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

If so, it looks to me that main menu is not dealing yet correctly with 2 displays and is sending the lock command to the 1st session. Is that the case? Oh, but if gnome-screensaver-command does not work, then I'm confused -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

No.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219550 ------- Comment #11 from jharmon@novell.com 2007-04-27 06:33 MST ------- It is still an issue in SLED 10 SP1 RC2. We have a beta customer reporting it as well. For some reason the gnome-screensaver is either unloading or crashing. When this issue happens, if you reload gnome-screensaver, then the gnome-screensaver-command --lock will start working again. This happens to my desktop quite often because I leave it up and running without rebooting for long periods of time -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219550 ------- Comment #12 from rodrigo@novell.com 2007-06-15 08:11 MST ------- The gnome-screensaver crashing might be because of bug #244713. If there is no crash, and g-s-command --lock works but the menu doesn't, it's an issue with main-menu. Scott? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The gnome-screensaver crashing might be because of bug #244713. If there is no crash, and g-s-command --lock works but the menu doesn't, it's an issue with main-menu. Scott?
I am not sure about that, because often I find that gnome-screen-saver is unloaded. for some reason. I think that the gnome-screen-saver --lock is just loading gnome-screen-saver first. When I have the issue, if I load gnome-screen-saver, then the menu starts working as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
