[Bug 1234355] New: disable suspend system or support it in future on RPi
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1234355 Bug ID: 1234355 Summary: disable suspend system or support it in future on RPi Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: aarch64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: zluo@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Target Milestone: --- Found By: --- Blocker: --- We have an issue (cannot wake up after suspend triggered) reported in https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1212877 but this got closed for the reason that this issue should be solved in upstream. or you can find this copied report: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1212877 At moment suspend behaves exactly like a poweroff, there is no way to wake up the system. I compared this with ubuntu 24.04 desktop on RPi. You will get an error message from Ubuntu if you try to suspend the system by 'systemctl suspend'. It doesn't run this command at all, it just tells you that suspend is not supported by kernel or configuration. The system won't be powered off. It prevents the worst case. So my request here: 1. support suspend on RPi in future or 2. disable now suspend on RPi and display a proper message to if user tries to do it -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
