[Bug 564275] New: Photoshop CS2 installation crashes in wine emulator
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564275 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564275#c0 Summary: Photoshop CS2 installation crashes in wine emulator Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: 7biohazard7@ukr.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; ru; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5 Photoshop CS2 doesn't install in Wine. It happens with wine-1.1.33(box version) and with new version wine-1.1.34 from network repository. Look at a message: "err:msi:msi_dialog_bitmap_control Failed to load bitmap (null) err:msi:msi_dialog_bitmap_control Failed to load bitmap (null) err:msi:msi_dialog_bitmap_control Failed to load bitmap (null) err:msi:ACTION_CallDllFunction Custom action (L"C:\\windows\\temp\\msi42be.tmp":L"CleanXHTML") caused a page fault: c0000005 err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception." I think it's a bug openSuse only. When I compiled wine from sources all works fine. I registered this bug on bugs.winehq.org(http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20725). Please read this topic for more information. After that I've done regression test(http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting) in Virtualbox and made sure that problem in wine package from openSuse community. When I used wine(1.1.32) packages from SLE11 repository Photoshop installed fine. Wine-gecko package is suspected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSuse 11.2 2. Run from root "zypper in wine" 3. Download http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/photoshop/win/cs2/Photoshop_CS2_tryout.z... and unzip it 4. Type "wine ../location_photoshop/setup.exe" 5. Click next-next and crushed Actual Results: Installation have crashed Expected Results: Installation have done fine -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Sorry. I search there - http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators:/Wine/SLE-11/ and http://software.opensuse.org/search too. May be package for 11.2 has an incorrect patch? I tried all version for 11.2 and anyone didn't work. But after I've read your post, I've just reinstalled only wine package from SLE repo. I haven't reinstalled wine-gecko at all. I notice that all version for 11.2 didn't work. (1.1.28 from DVD, 1.1.33 from repo and 1.1.34 when it was published) So, I don't know answer. Did you refreshed packages for 11.2 on repositories? I can check again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564275 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564275#c10 --- Comment #10 from Marcus Meissner <meissner@novell.com> 2010-02-04 17:28:37 UTC --- This bug was caused by: - we built 11.2 wine with -fomit-frame-pointer - a MSI CustomAction function in the Photoshop CS2 installer was badly declared CDECL instead of STDCALL and so corrupted the %esp register This was not visible when frame pointers where used (%ebp), but visible if not used. I submitted a fix to wine and it was applied just now: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commit;h=9fab263d397cfd61c6940b049f... it will be in the next published wine release. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
