[Bug 327502] New: Icons Should Be Set To Align
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327502 Summary: Icons Should Be Set To Align Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- This is a minor default setting request. Icons should probably be set to align to grid by default given that this behaviour tends to be the default on most other Personal Computers. In my opinion, this default behaviour would also assist less technical users in keeping their desktop tidy (note, opinion only! This is why I filed the severity as "enhancement"). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

When I open "Configure Desktop" "Align to grid" is checked, so the above requested default is set. However when I move the icons to a place I want them they are not aligned to the grid. When I uncheck "Align to grid" and after checking it again the icons are aligned, however they may be aligned on top of each other. Changed the impact to Normal as this is a real bug in my view. When checked moving an icon should immediately align it to the grid. What to do when moved to a location in between two others is not clear to me. Probably the icon should return to its original location and the user is forced to make room first moving other icons around to empty locations. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Changing back to Enhancement since it only materially affects KDE 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
