[Bug 851913] New: xdg-open tar.bz2, .js and a few other mime-types generates bogus "no program available" dialog
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851913 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851913#c0 Summary: xdg-open tar.bz2, .js and a few other mime-types generates bogus "no program available" dialog Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: klaussfreire@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 Mime-type database seems misconfigured somehow. With .tar.bz2 and .js files, at least, xdg-open <file> generates a prompt that there is no program installed, asking whether to install one. But dismissing the dialog with "no" opens up the right program (ark for .tar.bz2, kwrite for js). Maybe for .js it could be said that kwrite isn't really specific to application/javascript, but that cannot be the case with ark and tar.bz2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create or download a tar.bz2 as file.tar.bz2 2. xdg-open file.tar.bz2 Actual Results: A prompt to install a program is displayed, pressing "no" opens up "ark" which is the right program Expected Results: Ark should be opened without prompt. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
