[Bug 740162] New: dependency problem with yast-qt?

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=740162 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=740162#c0 Summary: dependency problem with yast-qt? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell-web@zmi.at QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0 I've installed a minimal system without X, openSUSE12.1-64bit, then some additionals like xorg-x11-xauth and yast2-control-center-qt, because I want to open yast2 remotely via ssh. I found that this doesn't autoselect yast2-qt (why?), so wanted to install it. But it says (sorry is german, but easy to read I think): # zypper in yast2-qt Daten des Repositorys laden ... Installierte Pakete lesen ... Paketabhängigkeiten auflösen ... Problem: yast2-qt-2.21.7-2.1.2.x86_64 benötigt yast2-branding, was aber nicht angeboten werden kann Nicht installierbare Anbieter: yast2-branding-openSUSE-2.18.0-11.1.1.noarch[openSUSE-12.1-12.1-1.4] yast2-branding-basedonopensuse-12.1-6.1.2.i586[repo-oss] yast2-branding-openSUSE-2.18.0-11.1.1.noarch[repo-oss] yast2-branding-basedonopensuse-12.1-6.1.2.x86_64[repo-oss] Lösung 1: Deinstallation von patterns-openSUSE-minimal_base-conflicts-12.1-25.21.1.x86_64 Lösung 2: yast2-qt-2.21.7-2.1.2.x86_64 nicht installieren Lösung 3: yast2-qt-2.21.7-2.1.2.x86_64 nicht installieren Lösung 4: yast2-qt auflösen durch das Ignorieren einiger Abhängigkeiten I chose "4" to ignore the problem and it works. But what's the problem with the dependency? I've already had yast2-qt-branding-openSUSE installed, why doesn't that help? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install os12.1 minimal system without X 2. zypper in yast2-qt 3. can't auto-resolve packages -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Unfortunately it has "Supplements: packageand(yast2:branding-openSUSE)" so gets installed when yast2 is installed, even if only the ncurses ui is used. If you'd change the supplements to only trigger on gui yast frontends we could remove the conflicts from the pattern. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
