https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=414154 Summary: X server will no longer start Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jamesrome@alum.mit.edu QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I restarted my machine after recent updates, and now X will not start. If I do xinit, I get the following errors: AIGLX error: r300 reports no extensions (/usr/lib64/r300_dri.so undefined symbol: __driDriverExtensions) AIGLX: Reverting to software rendering AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib64/dri/swrast_dri.so failed There is no swrast_dri.so file there. There is a radeon_dri.so file. How do I get X11 to use it? This used to work. I have changed nothing. What did the updates do to me? How do I get the right files? There are other reports of this on Red Hat and Ubuntu also. Make sure you also update Mesa. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No idea how you managed it to update xorg-x11-server + video and input driver packages, but not Mesa. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
