The mirrors were asked to --exclude the tree, as its content might not be very useful. If space was needed, it was taken from the discontinued/ tree by removing the oldest directories. I wish we could provide a last update to each codebase that clearly indicates that no further updates will be provided for the corresponding distribution. This was actually agreed upon a while ago (during 10.0 times), but never implemented. With this last update (-message), the date of the last update can be shown, and 5-10 months later, the directory can be removed or moved away.
