Your settings were valid (I explain later why) and it is cause why you didn't see any error message. The huge number of checkboxes has historical reason. We just rewrite UI from generated UI via special metadata to classical UI which can help us to better control user inputs or fix troubles in UI (e.g. it is too short input field) The major change you don't see because it is about handling UI NOT about changing components of UI like checkboxes, comboboxes etc. Better design of UI components is next step. Josef has a lot of ideas what can be change and what is better solution than what we have now. But I am sure that you are not happy if you see good UI with perfect usability but one half of settings don't work. There is still a lot of bugs and I prefer fixing existing bugs before creating new super, cool and ideal UI.
