[Bug 879506] New: Regression: File details missing from rename dialogue window
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=879506 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=879506#c0 Summary: Regression: File details missing from rename dialogue window Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.2 Milestone 0 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: wbauer@tmo.at QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux) KHTML/4.13.1 (like Gecko) Konqueror/4.13 SUSE (I filed this against Factory, but the same problem exists in KDE:Distro:Factory and KDE:Current as well of course. Also this is not yet a problem in 13.2 Milestone0 as that still contains KDE 4.12, but I couldn't select a different Product Version) See the following upstream bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=334235 This is missing because kdelibs4 4.13 is built without Nepomuk. And it would need strigi as well to show additional metadata like Width/Height for pictures. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. copy a file to a place where it already exists (with dolphin f.e.) Actual Results: A dialog appears saying that the file already exists, and asks whether to overwrite it, rename it or cancel. This dialog doesn't show anything except for the file name. Expected Results: It should show file metadata, such as file size. This works fine in Ubuntu 14.04 f.e., which also ships KDE 4.13. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is missing because kdelibs4 4.13 is built without Nepomuk. And it would need strigi as well to show additional metadata like Width/Height for pictures. Sigh... We where hoping not to have 3 layers of semantic stuff... /me votes: bring back strigi/soprano/s-d-o - but split them as possible (only libstreamanalyzer is needed iirc, which needs libstreams; similar with soprano libs) i guess this also causes lokalize issue mentioned in the ML
but IMHO nepomuk2 (not mentioned in this context - but still want to mention it) should not be brought in. e.g. with digikam, kget, etc... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Firstly strigi was split out more to create a separate package with the libraries needed to resolve this issue and furthermore kdelibs4 is building again with strigi/soprano support. We tested the changes in KUSC and there the bug was resolved with the above changes. The changes were pushed to KDE:Current and KDE:Distro:Factory. So with the next update in either repository this bug should have been resolved. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
