--- Comment #19 from Freek de Kruijf
Tumbleweed should be ok - the kernel is newer than on 42.1. If 42.1 is working for you, Tumbleweed should do as well. 13.2 is different - there I'm afraid you may need to use some 'Kernel of the Day'.
Tumbleweed is not OK. When I remove nomodeset on the boot command I still get a black screen and the system hangs. I have to use the power button to get in control again.
Maybe the only problem I encountered was with a video I wanted to play in a LibreOffice presentation. I that case the screen was quite distorted, but I do not know if this was the cause.
You also mentioned a black screen after a KDE login - when I read your bug report and the one on freedesktop.org. This apart from complete hangs - which you didn't mention on freedesktop.org.
This problem only occurred after the initial installation, after that I never got to the point where I could log into KDE. I never installed a fresh Tumbleweed on my system to see if this is reproducible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
