[Bug 235270] New: K3B will not burn on a multi-session CD-R
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=235270 Summary: K3B will not burn on a multi-session CD-R Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME - Platform AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome-platform@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Chananko@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I was unable to burn additional data onto a CD which was originally burned with a K3B multi-session setup under the Gnome desktop. It attempts to burn the CD and then says there is no room on the CD to burn additional data. I was able to burn the additional data by switching into XFCE which means that K3B is not the problem here, rather it is a gnome related issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Does it also work in KDE? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=235270 ------- Comment #2 from Chananko@yahoo.com 2007-01-18 08:43 MST ------- Exactly, GNOME will not burn a multi-session CD. For convience sake, I had originally tried to burn in GNOME CD/DVD creator even though my preference is for K3B. Neither GNOME CD/DVD creator nor K3B will burn additional data to a multi-session CD. XFCE can handle the request under K3B without any problems. As for KDE, I cannot say since I do not have the KDE desktop installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Lubos, does k3b try and unmount a multi-session volume before burngin to it? If so, how? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

From looking at the sources and trying to add another session to a mounted CD, yes. It seems to just call a plain umount.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=235270#c6 --- Comment #6 from David Kozlin <Chanankoz@earthlink.net> 2007-10-01 08:27:42 MST --- Recently tried to burn CD/DVD under Gnome with K3B v.1.03 and found a multi-session burn successful. Appears bug has been resolved under Gnome. Possibly due to updated versions of HAL? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
