[Bug 220257] New: GnuPG Agent fails to run
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220257 Summary: GnuPG Agent fails to run Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: monkey9@iae.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de The use of GnuPG Agent is enabled in GnuPG's configuration file (/home/monkey9/.gnupg/gpg.conf). However, the agent does not seem to be running. This could result in problems with signing/decryption. Please disable GnuPG Agent from KGpg settings, or fix the agent. However this happens on startup, restarting the desktop fixes this, sometimes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220257 ------- Comment #1 from pnemec@novell.com 2006-11-15 04:29 MST ------- hmm some problem in xsession execution. AFAIK kmail will start gpg-agent itself if not find any? But has to be fixed anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

It looks that gpg-agent is not started with xsession, at least in beta2. Reassigning to xorg-x11 maintainer. It depends. See /etc/X11/xdm/sys.xsession. Not sure, why you think this is handled wrong.

Second: If /etc/X11/xdm/sys.xsession is used what does show ~/.xsession-errors if for debugging a line with set -x is written on the first empty line of /etc/X11/xdm/sys.xsession? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220257 ------- Comment #9 from monkey9@iae.nl 2006-11-15 06:46 MST ------- First of all, i am having trouble with receiving mail: first a routing problem with kpn, and now only the headers arrive.... I have formatted the unstable upgrade, and installed clean from dvd.. Now all kind of new trouble is coming toward me... I hav to finish the mail problem first..... ;) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220257 ------- Comment #10 from monkey9@iae.nl 2006-11-16 01:38 MST ------- After the Beta2 install (from dvd) no more trouble with GnuPG.. Even after the (again) interupted upgrade over internet towards Beta2+, the agent works properly, and my mails can be signed without any problem. Keep it open for me to finish (if i am able) the upgrade. I will report, even whatever is the status. (now no problems with GnuPG.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
