Just tried with MozillaFirefox from mozilla:beta under an updated Factory installation and it works correctly for me.
Have you tried it on 11.0 Alpha 2+? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Don't know. I've updated my Factory installation last saturday whatever snapshot that means. Alpha 2+ isn't available externally AFAIK. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It should, like konqueror and opera, be using the mimetype the server serves the file as.
There is an issue with it which can be taken as a Firefox problem: Firefox uses the mimetype the server provides to figure out the correct application. Then it gets told to open the file with the default application and here it starts to be wrong. Firefox downloads the file and uses gnome_url_show to open the application. gnome_url_show doesn't have any mimetype information from the webserver anymore since it is operated on a local file. I will take that as an issue to mozilla but still I'm not sure if gnome_url_show behaves correctly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If it is not possible to save it as the correct mimetype, perhaps we should not be using GNOME VFS and use something like
http://kb.mozillazine.org/MimeTypes.rdf
Which is capable of starting application directly based on the mimetype the file is served as.
As discussed when we introduced YMP in 10.3 this is no real solution (and it's ugly). People tend to have an existing firefox profile nowadays and all we could do is to preset the type for fresh profiles. So let's hear what Gnome guys have to say about that behaviour first. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Now when I click on the mplayer ymp file in Packman's web page again, it opens a correct yast2 module, but it writes Nothing to do. What is the problem now?
