I have tried the CD's, creating a DVD, as well as a network install and all of them lock up at the same point where is says loading linux kernel and as soon as the dialog disappears it lock hard. Does it install on real hardware?
Yes it installed fine for me me on another machine but it didn't install for me in vmware or in Xen.
As we don't know what vmware is doing, it's a bit hard to support it...
I surely hope that we are not saying that we are not going to support vmware. There are several bugs talkinging about something similar. Please somebody with knowledge look at them and decide which one is a copy of the other: 202605, 204252 and 202079. The issue is that because some are under VMware and Parallels the mauintainers just close those tickets, leaving the issue not closed, but open. This WILL result in a LOT of problems when people close tickets just because the word Parallels or VMware is used.
