[Bug 770614] New: Some gzip and bzip compressed tar archives are not being unpacked properly
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=770614 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=770614#c0 Summary: Some gzip and bzip compressed tar archives are not being unpacked properly Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: dutchkind@txoriaskea.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1 When I compress a the .mozilla folder with tar.bzip2 or tar.gz and later want to unpack it it is not completely unpacked but only unpacked to a tar archive. Other folders don't seem to give a problem. When I double click on the tar.bzip2, the normal behavior is to enter the archive and browse it's structure, now I get an error about some unsupported file formats. When I try this on an archive created before on an older version of opensuse I don't have a problem, so it seems to be something during creation in opensuse 12.2 beta2. Unpacking the archive with the error using the commandline unpacks it normally without any errors of tar. What has been changed, is there something with newer gzip / bzip2 libraries or any other known problem? I reported this bug also in KDE (Bug 303283) but this could be opensuse specific.
