[Bug 344147] New: missing email addresses in the %changelog
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344147 Summary: missing email addresses in the %changelog Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-tux@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: mls@novell.com, ro@novell.com, mrueckert@novell.com, dmueller@novell.com Found By: --- It seems that the email address of the packager is missing in the %changelog entries. This affects all factory packages. Example: rpm -qp --changelog http://ftp-1.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/su... * Do Mär 15 2007 anosek - updated to version 3.1.4 .. So the @domain.tld part is missing. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344147#c2 --- Comment #2 from Marcus Hüwe <suse-tux@gmx.de> 2007-11-27 08:36:18 MST --- I'm not quite sure if I like this feature:) Imagine a package got imported from the buildservice into factory and the buildservice maintainer who has a non @suse address decides to leave out the domain for the same reason (yes i know this is very hypothetical...). What I want to say is that it is harder to contact the packager directly if you haven't an email address. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344147#c3 --- Comment #3 from Dirk Mueller <dmueller@novell.com> 2007-11-30 14:17:16 MST --- ehm, I don't see your point. if he added changelog entries without his email address, no patch to rpm will restore the domain part. furthermore, the suse changelog entries are actually generated from a different source, so if a changelog of a suse provided rpm exists, then the scenario above can not happen, because the %changelog in the rpm is overwritten, always, all the time, unconditionally. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So either leave the name as it is or make them all @novell.com as this what will be the bugzilla account in most cases. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
