This is fate#323189: Drop multiversion(kernel) from KMPs, but you probably do
not have access to it. Let me copy the reasoning here:
-----8<-----
The kernel module package template includes "Provides: multiversion(kernel)",
but this has been doing more harm than good. The problem is that two versions
of a KMP built against the same kernel will have file conflicts, so the
packages should not be marked as "multiversion". The tag does make sense in
openSUSE Tumbleweed, when several kabi-incompatible kernels are installed. But
in SLE and Leap, it's actually not helpful. One popular KMP (nvidia) even has a
workaround to remove the multiversion tag.
In theory, KMPs could place the modules in versioned subdirectories and depmod
could be taught to do version sorting. But if a KMP author goes such a long
way, they can as well add the multiversion tag locally.
