https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=416919 Summary: [GNOME:Factory/pulseaudio] Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: maw@novell.com ReportedBy: novell@nethog.com QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Sorry if this has been reported already, if so, ignore it.. Kudos on the patch to make pulseaudio-esound-compat provide esound-daemon, however, excluding esound from the provides creates other depency issues. esound-daemon is required by libesd0 .. so making pulseaudio-esound-compat provide esound-daemon helps avoid a conflict (mainly esound or /usr/bin/esd) esound is however, still required by many applications, so I don't think keeping the Provides for esound would be a problem. As it stands now, if this patched version of pulseaudio-esound-compat is installed, to solve dependencies, either esound of a different arch is selected for install (which would still conflict because of /usr/bin/esd) or everything requiring esound would have to be uninstalled... anyways.. the project.diff file in GNOME:Factory for package pulseaudio should probably be modified from this:
Provides: esound = 0.2.38 Obsoletes: esound <= 0.2.38 +Provides: esound-daemon = 0.2.38 +Obsoletes: esound-daemon <= 0.2.38
to this:
Provides: esound = 0.2.38 Obsoletes: esound <= 0.2.38 +Provides: esound-daemon = 0.2.38 +Obsoletes: esound-daemon <= 0.2.38
(of course my example isn't an actual 'diff', but you get the point) cheers! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

-Provides: esound = 0.2.38 -Obsoletes: esound <= 0.2.38 +Provides: esound-daemon = 0.2.38 +Obsoletes: esound-daemon <= 0.2.38
to this:
