The hwclock process cannot be killed even via KILL signal. And seem to get this same issue. Live installer (and desktop) freezes after accepting the license in the installer, as it tries to load the next step which is clock + timezone. KDE4 i386 Live CD. Installation is freezeng after accepting licence and defining language and keyboard layout. Just before the timezones. All desktop doesn't answer, just mouse moves.
