[Bug 933034] New: GTK-2.0 applications (eg Thunderbird/Firefox) do not save credentials for printing
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=933034 Bug ID: 933034 Summary: GTK-2.0 applications (eg Thunderbird/Firefox) do not save credentials for printing Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: joschibrauchle@gmx.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- When printing to a CUPS queue that requires authentication (eg. Windows Shared Network Printer), the GTK framework correctly prompts for username and password. Unfortunately, the dialog for username and password does not offer to store the password in the keyring. Hence, the user is required to authenticate for each and every print job, e.g. in Thunderbird or Firefox under openSUSE 13.2. The bug was reported to GTK upstream here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=743166 Please consider including the mentioned patch to openSUSE 13.2 for the good of the affected users. The patch was thoroughly tested for months as mentioned in above bugreport, but not yet included into GTK-2 for "political" reasons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
