[Bug 1103426] Tumbleweed installation freezes when using QXL driver

Which tumbleweed build are you using (cat /etc/issue)?
This is Tumbleweed ISO openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20180723.iso (/etc/issue just says "openSUSE Tumbleweed Installation"), the host system is Leap 15. However the freezes are happening at least since 20180606 - I tried to install a Kubic system (based on Tumbleweed) back then with the same symptoms. Before that date I was still using Leap 42.3 on the host, but I don't remember any problems. This only seems to happen with Tumbleweed, when installing Leap 15 as a guest the installation didn't freeze for me yet.
Did you actually try other drivers besides QXL to know if installation works?
Yes, when using the Virtio driver I didn't have any freezes so far.
Are you on the console doing this or remote secure shell (ssh -X) and does it make a difference one way or the other for you?
The freezes are independent of using a console VT or a remote shell; I just started sshd to test if I would still be able to connect to such a system. This worked, so I was able to generate the output from the original description. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
