[Bug 1178595] New: [Build 20201106] openQA test fails in installation_overview
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1178595 Bug ID: 1178595 Summary: [Build 20201106] openQA test fails in installation_overview Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: S/390-64 URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1464525/modules/inst allation_overview/steps/7 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: dimstar@opensuse.org QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: openQA Blocker: Yes ## Observation openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-DVD-s390x-textmode-server@s390x fails in [installation_overview](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1464525/modules/installation_overview/step...) The installer is instructed to install a 'server' role on a s390x instance; in the installer overview, though, when we check, the default-target is set to 'graphical', not 'multi-user' as one would expect. ## Test suite description The base test suite is used for job templates defined in YAML documents. It has no settings of its own. ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20201106](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1464525) (current job) ## Expected result Last good: [20200413](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1234210) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=s390x&distri=opensuse&flavor=DVD&machine=s390x&test=textmode-server&version=Tumbleweed) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So this is different to what you documented back in the days in https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1167736#c20 and would indicate that this was indeed a bug (fixed)
Yes, now the behavior is consistent within (open)SUSE (even if I still think that it should be consistent with Redhat* and RPi*) So, for Tumbleweed the test needs to be adapted.
how is that not a problem in SLE anymore now?
I cannot see the remote VNC installation scheduled in s390: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/overview?distri=sle&version=15-SP3&build=74.1&groupid=129 So, we didn't catch the change there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hi Rodion,
Could you confirm if the remote VNC installation on s390x is not scheduled?
Hi Sergio, I'm not sure what exactly you mean, as by default any installation on zVM and zKVM is a remote VNC installation, as we cannot work with it same way we do with qemu. If you mean multi machine scenario, it's not scheduled and won't be as multi machine setup is not supported on s390x. As for failing test, please, file a ticket, so we could fix the expectations for that scenario. Let me know if you have any further questions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ah, so obvious mistake, that was the part I was missing. Thanks! The textmode installation in SLE15-SP3 is selecting `multi-target`: https://openqa.suse.de/tests/4960812#step/installation_overview/4 Which is the expected one. And Tumbleweed Snapshot 20201108 also did it. But, I lost the job id. Let's wait until I fix the workers issues to verify before closing this ticket. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

From snapshot 1205: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1498166#step/system_role/5 The test on TW selects 'server' (which is textmode) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
