Running GNOME version of OpenSUSE 11.1 has no such issue. Wielens <Uniacke1@yahoo.ca> 2009-02-07 05:06:29 MST --- You can edit /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager and change the greeter from kdm4 to kdm3, or any other preferred login manager- this appears to be caused by KDM4. As for fixing, I'm not sure how it's implemented, but the problem seems related to the contents of video memory- on cold boot, there is just random noise, but if re-starting X, or rebooting from Windows, the garbage contains pieces of the last session/OS...
