There seems to be another bug preventing opening more tabs in factory and SVN trunk. I'm not sure about visible tab widgets. I seem to be able to open as many articles in tabs as I want to. You will agree that opening a new (=additional) window with the tab content is not the same as detaching the tab. Konqueror behaves the same way.
