[Bug 653483] New: Using fglrx: intermittent freezes of X
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653483 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653483#c0 Summary: Using fglrx: intermittent freezes of X Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lukrez@gmx.at QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=400072) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=400072) Output of "dmesg" before restarting the system User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b7) Gecko/20101105 Firefox/4.0b7 Using latest kernel update (2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop) and latest fglrx driver from AMD (10.10). There was no special trigger event, but it seemed that at some time, when some additional graphical element had to be loaded (e.g. tooltip), the X system froze. As keyboard or mouse input triggered no more reactions, I had to use ssh to restart the system remotely. This happened using KDE and compositing effects. As those freezes were annoying, I removed fglrx and experienced no more crashes. Reproducible: Sometimes -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Please complain directly to ATI.
