[Bug 1032881] New: Does guile 2.2.0 still need "guile-64bit.patch"?
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1032881 Bug ID: 1032881 Summary: Does guile 2.2.0 still need "guile-64bit.patch"? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Development Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: peter.simons@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build Identifier: The 64-bit patch was added to guile 1.x quite a while ago:
Sat Sep 15 20:22:56 CEST 2001 - schwab@suse.de
- Fix libtool configuration. - Remove ia64 cpp workaround. - Fix hash functions for 64-bit architectures.
Now, after updating to version 2.2.0, this patch no longer applies. Apparently, the underlying code has been re-written quite a bit. Now I'm trying to understand what issue this patched fixed, exactly, and whether that issue might still exist in guile 2.2.0, i.e. does this patch need forward porting? Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
