[Bug 733025] New: New plasmoids do not appear in the 'Add plasmoid' dialog
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733025 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733025#c0 Summary: New plasmoids do not appear in the 'Add plasmoid' dialog Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: gregap@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/15.0.874.121 Safari/535.2 On a freshly upgraded openSUSE 12.1 (upgraded via zypper dup) new plasmoids do not appear in the 'Add plasmoid' dialog. I've tried both adding plasmoids via YAST (e.g. plasmoid-fancy-tasks) as well as the GHNS dialog. Rebooting doesn't help. I'm suspecting that this is why the NetworkManager plasmoid doesn't work (my bug #732837) as it could be adding an outdated version of the plasmoid. I don't know if this is related, but no packages installed via YAST appear in either krunner or lancelot either - if I type the name of the application fully, I get the option 'run X' but not its entry with the icon. I should probably file a separate bug report for this? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install a new plasmoid 2. Try adding it to the desktop or a panel 3. Plasmoid isn't there Actual Results: No plasmoids in the add plasmoid dialog. Expected Results: The plasmoid should be there for me to add. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But can you create a new account and give a try? I wonder somewhere configuration messed up your system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Both newly installed applications as well as widgets become available as soon as I install them. What would be the best thing to try to fix my primary user? I can start using a new account, but I would prefer not to since I've got many things set up on my main account. Also, same thing seems to have happened on my home machine, so if we find a solution it can benefit others as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The system is running OK now and those apps that krunner didn't find before are listed now. One funny thing still: the program krusader is no longer in the program list, only krusader(root mode). But I can live with that, I only start it once and then leave it running on each desktop session :) I wish we couldn've found the root cause, but I can now work again, thank you! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
