https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=392629
Summary: xend managed domain can't be set to autostart during
lifetime
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: All
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Xen
AssignedTo: cgriffin@novell.com
ReportedBy: wolfgang@rosenauer.org
QAContact: qa@suse.de
CC: hmuelle@novell.com
Found By: ---
Latest libvirt supports setting autostart flag for xend managed domains.
That doesn't work with Xen on 10.3 because of the following patch which has
been applied:
# HG changeset patch
# User kfraser@localhost.localdomain
# Date 1180086787 -3600
# Node ID a717cb2fac908ba82619ba52e34a2cc77942df4f
# Parent 9073caff4b63490bc63bbe2b0b48fd06cc47d6c6
xend: Fix checkname so that it detects duplicate domains.

As for 10.3, I doubt we will be doing an update for this issue. As I understand it, general policy is only data corruption and security fixes for boxed product. I will get confirmation on the policy but if that is the case will close this bug as WONTFIX.
BTW, this issue does not exist in 11.0 as it contains Xen 3.2.1.
I'm wondering what you think about a Virtualization:Xen project in OBS? There is already KVM, VMWare, VirtualBox while Xen is missing currently. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Agreed, should be there. Sigh ... Another thing to add to my overflowing list :-/. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

OK, I've finally got around to creating OBS projects for Xen. For this bug in particular, I've created Virtualization:XEN:SL10_3-Branch project containing xen package (Xen 3.1.1 that originally shipped with openSUSE 10.3). I have reverted c/s 15168 in this package, which should fix the reported issue. Please test and reopen if the problem persists. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
