https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=879938 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=879938#c0 Summary: ssh does not fully honor -q option Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: wagner-thomas@gmx.at QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/34.0.1847.137 Safari/537.36 I use ssh -nNf -o ControlMaster=yes -o ControlPath="$HOME/.ssh/ctl/%L-%r@%h:%p" "$REMOTE_USER"@$REMOTE_HOST" to open an ssh connection and ssh -q -O exit -o ControlPath="$HOME/.ssh/ctl/%L-%r@%h:%p" "$REMOTE_USER"@"$REMOTE_HOST" to close it. According to the man page, I expect the -q of ssh to disable all status output. However even in quiet mode the string "Exit request sent." is written to stderr when the exit command is sent. For Debian, there is already a patch available that disables this status output in quite mode: https://lists.debian.org/debian-ssh/2010/01/msg00080.html Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use ssh -q -O exit Actual Results: "Exit request sent." is written to stderr. Expected Results: No output should be produces, since no error has happened. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
