[Bug 468583] New: Gnome desktop restarted and Nautilus exits on removal of USB storage device
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=468583 Summary: Gnome desktop restarted and Nautilus exits on removal of USB storage device Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: 1kfmm4x02@sneakemail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090115 Minefield/3.2a1pre Sometimes, when I unplug an USB storage device (external disk or media player), the Gnome desktop is emptied and rearranged as if it had been restarted. If I have an instance of Nautilus open it will close automatically. I have set Nautilus to not auto-mount or auto-mount-open media, and I think the bug will only show if I unplug the device without having mounted it. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure you have a clear view of your Gnome desktop. 2. Make sure you don't have any auto-mounting preferences in effect. 3. Open an instance of Nautilus. 4. Plug in a USB storage device, e.g., an external disk. Wait a few seconds to let the device be identified. 5. Unplug the USB device. Actual Results: The desktop is wiped clean of all icons, after which it is reinitialized. Nautilus will close. Expected Results: Nothing special should happen. An easy way to test it is to remove the brasero package. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 464029 *** https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464029 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
