I've installed Terminator on a KDE Tumbleweed on a Haswell machine. I was unable to reproduce your specific artifacts, however I've found that Terminator doesn't draw its transparent background right. On the other hand, the XFCE terminal also has a transparent background option, and that works perfectly fine with the KDE compositor. I suspect that it's a problem with Terminator, or whatever it uses underneath. Could you please try whether this still happens on a freshly booted system, WITHOUT starting Terminator? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have been updating my system regularly since this issue without solve it. I update it again today to Tumbleweed 20170510, did a new boot and the problem remains. Take in mind that the same or very analog problem affects Firefox too, as this new video I uploaded today. Notice when I type the URL. Sometimes the glitches are much more intense then as shown in the video. The problem doesn't happen in Konsole neither XFCE4 Terminal, but it's a pity because Terminator is one of my most important daily used tool. The grid layout is awesome and there's no other terminal with this feature. Could you tell me some debug method to find the core of this issue? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv72jMs5haY -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'd like to have one more look at this issue, and see whether I can reproduce it. Does it still happen with the newest Tumbleweed updates? Apologies too for my delay. I have been in sick days. The window resize problem has gone and the Firefox URL typing glithcing has gone too. Hi Heitor,
The newest version of Terminator on Tumbleweed (1.90-2.3) doesn't even start for me, because the Python GTK/GDK 3 component doesn't recognize the X display (it words fine on Leap 42.3 though).
Can you please check which version of terminator you're using, and maybe simply paste the output of the following command?
zypper info terminator
Thanks!

For me, launching terminator only results in the following being output on the console: You need to run terminator in an X environment. Make sure $DISPLAY is properly set And that error message is printed very early on in /usr/bin/terminator . I don't understand why it works on Leap 42.3, but not on a fresh install of Tumbleweed (I downloaded and installed it just now). Given the nature of the problems with Terminator, I suspect it really is a problem with Terminator, libvte, or GTK+, neither of which are something the Xorg team at SUSE can help much with. Sorry :( For GTK problems, you can assign this bug to the GNOME component in the SUSE bugzilla. As for the other pieces, I'm afraid I don't really know. So let's assign this to the GNOME folks at SUSE - dear GNOME people, do you know what could be wrong here, or who else we could ask? I'm not sure this is your cup of tea either, but maybe you have an idea. Thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
