[Bug 590165] New: Desktop folder (place) launchers don't work from web browser's browse buttons (attach in email ...)
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590165 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590165#c0 Summary: Desktop folder (place) launchers don't work from web browser's browse buttons (attach in email ...) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: saulantolinez-ruiz@yahoo.es QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 In openSUSE 11.2 with GNOME, I have a folder launcher in my desktop (shortcut). I created it with mouse right button -> create launcher -> type: place + desired name + route to the folder. It works OK offline: if I click on it Nautilus opens in the specified folder/route. But if I open Firefox, login into my email account, create a new message and try to attach a file the problem appears: I click on the Browse... button and the file system navigator opens -> I click on Desktop and then on my folder launcher. Instead of forwarding to the launcher destiny folder the navigator closes. But the problem appears also if the Linux distro uses KDE/Qt, as seen in http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-9387 . In Window (also with Firefox) there is no problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I thought that KDE based distros didn't have GTK packages but I've seen that they have some. There is a bug about this opened in GNOME's Bugzilla, so probably this one here could be closed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It's just that the feature is arguably confusing for users. (It also got removed in GNOME 2.32). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
