[Bug 292435] New: Autoyast fails due to SCR mysteriouses
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=292435 Summary: Autoyast fails due to SCR mysteriouses Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: trenn@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- The test has been done on stable, not a real Alpha/Beta snapshot. Olaf Dabrunz has done some changes in the yast- and/or perl-bootloader that should make our autoyast configuration work again for 10.3 I tested it by simply using the latest stable package repository. While it looks better now, there still seem to be another issue, which Olaf guessed that could have to do with latest limal-bootloader changes? The installation (yast2) hangs after partitions got created and mounted when trying to create the initrd: Olaf also identified that the problem probably has to with SCR things and said the culprit might come from these messages (part of /var/log/Yast2/y2log, I will also attach the full log): [Interpreter] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:75 Calling YaST client switch_scr_finish (arguments: ["Write"]) [YCP] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:33 starting switch_scr_finish [YCP] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:52 Stopping SCR [wfm] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:54 There is no default SCR set now [wfm] Y2WFMComponent.cc(SCRClose):291 Redirecting system namespace 'Bootloader_API' to local [wfm] Y2SystemNamespace.cc(useLocal):141 redirecting to local [wfm] Y2SystemNamespace.cc(useLocal):145 Redirected: initBootloader [wfm] Y2SystemNamespace.cc(useLocal):145 Redirected: setMountPoints [wfm] Y2SystemNamespace.cc(useLocal):145 Redirected: setPartitions [wfm] Y2SystemNamespace.cc(useLocal):145 Redirected: setMDArrays [wfm] WFMSubAgent.cc(~WFMSubAgent):41 Deleting SubAgent: 1 scr [wfm] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:54 SCR handle 1 closed [YCP] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:60 Re-starting SCR on /mnt [Interpreter] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:61 Can't create component 'chroot=/mnt:scr' [wfm] Y2WFMComponent.cc(SCROpen):250 SCROpen 'chroot=/mnt:scr' failed: -1 [wfm] Y2WFMComponent.cc(SCRSetDefault):333 Seting default SCR: -1 [libscr] Directory.ycp:118 No SCR instance found [YCP] Directory.ycp:120 Failed to set temporary directory: nil [YCP] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:75 switch_scr_finish finished [Interpreter] clients/switch_scr_finish.ycp:75 Called YaST client returned: nil [wfm] Y2CCWFM.cc(createInLevel):153 Parsing finished [Interpreter] clients/inst_finish.ycp:55 Calling YaST client ldconfig_finish (arguments: ["Write"]) [YCP] clients/ldconfig_finish.ycp:30 starting ldconfig_finish [libscr] clients/ldconfig_finish.ycp:45 No SCR instance found [YCP] clients/ldconfig_finish.ycp:45 ldconfig failed [YCP] clients/ldconfig_finish.ycp:55 ldconfig_finish finished -- I increase severity for this one because we couldn't do any autoyast install on 10.3 for a long time now. We have plenty of machines that need updates/testing and doing manual installations cost too much time. Pls tell me and I can give you remote access to a machine to test this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
