The only way out is a hard reset. Booting with "nomodeset" does not solve the issue. Booting in "recovery mode" works normally. Adding "processor.max_cstate=1" to the default grub menu makes the system boot normally. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot up with "debug initcall_debug" as boot options in grub 2. Check what the system did when it froze 3.
