https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254403 ------- Comment #3 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-14 05:47 MST ------- I think that this is a build bug. gnome-session thinks that at-spi-registryd is /usr/lib/at-spi-registryd, but in fact it is /usr/lib/at-spi/at-spi-registryd. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254403 ------- Comment #4 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-14 05:52 MST ------- You have to compile gnome-session with: /configure \ --with-at-spi-registryd-directory=/usr/lib/at-spi -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Having said that, the upstream configure.in code could be a lot smarter about autodetecting the correct path. I wonder why they are not using AC_PATH_PROG, given that they are using it for esd without any problems. Ideally, at-spi should have a .pc file and gnome-session could query libexecdir from there. I will report that upstream later. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254403 ------- Comment #6 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-14 06:18 MST ------- Also note that it's really /usr/lib/at-spi on all platforms, and not %{_libdir}/at-spi or something like that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Fixed by the simplest way you suggest. You can reopen this bug, if upstream will fix at-spi .pc and gnome-session check. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Now, what is this supposed to mean ? My Rolls Royce has a flat tire and I only get it inflated if Mr. Rolls or Mr. Royce feel inclined to buid cars with decent tires ? I thought that is the reason for distributions: To even out irregularities for end users. Please reconsider! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254403 andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REOPENED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #9 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-03-15 08:11 MST ------- Please reconsider your Bugzilla habits. This bug is fixed for openSUSE, the next package will search for at-spi-registry in the correct place and everything will be fine, even for the casual programmer and/or end user. The comment just refers to a better way to achieve the same effect, which was decided to be outside the scope of the openSUSE project. Note that you will most likely have to wait at least 7 days for the update because the factory tree is locked after alpha releases in order to allow FTP installations during this period. There is no need to reopen this bug before you have a gnome-session package with the following changelog entry that still doesn't work: * Wed Mar 14 2007 - sbrabec@suse.cz - Fixed at-spi-registryd path (#254403). http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-commit/2007-03/msg00560.html -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
