I didn't know that it was possible to include even more information into the software management module but the one in openSUSE 11.2 proofed me wrong :-) Instead of overcrowding the module why not make the views accessible via menu bar (see mock up). This is the way people know it from various desktops. The third reason is that the mechanism of adding and removing tabs doesn't seem to be usable to me. Fourthly this is a misuse of tabs as the various tabs are mostly depend of each other (e.g. when I mark a package via package groups it is also marked when I search for it and shown in the summary). No, just kidding :-) I propose something like in the attachment. The tabs are hidden into the view section and "search" is shown by default. The hard disk overview can be moved to "views" as well.
