The release numbers of your packages are exactly the ones from the current openSUSE 10.2-Alpha tree. They cannot work on a SUSE Linux 10.1 system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212518 ------- Comment #2 from mwmcmlln@mnsi.net 2006-10-15 22:13 MST ------- The original Smart Packages were installed off of the 10.1 CD's, I have not added or changed any channels. This problem occoured when I was using the stock package from the CD's, and the error message was the same, I did a command line upgrade of Smart and Smart-GUI to what is listed above. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212518 ------- Comment #3 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-10-15 22:27 MST ------- This is impossible. The 10.1 CDs do not contain these release numbers at all. The 10.1 CDs contain: python-gtk-2.8.2-21 smart-0.41-23 smart-gui-0.41-23 And the releases you have are clearly not from a 10.1 channel, they are from a 10.2 channel. You can easily verify this by comparing the trees yourself: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.1/inst-source/suse/i586 (=10.1) http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/i5... (=10.2) Please provide the exact output of both following commands: python -c "import gtk" smart channel --show -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212518 ------- Comment #5 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-10-17 02:15 MST ------- Mike, any chance to get a clear answer on the question which operating system you are using? Are you using SUSE Linux 10.1 or openSUSE 10.2 Alpha? Your channels are not for 10.1, they are for 10.2 Alpha. And the gtk import error is expected because gtk_recent_info_unref has been added in a later gtk version than that which is shipped with 10.1. This isn't a bug, it's a broken system caused by a broken setup. Everything that might eventually(!) be a bug here is that python-gtk should maybe(!) require the minimum version of gtk2 that was used to build it, like: Requires: gtk2 >= %(rpm -q --queryformat=%{VERSION} gtk2) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212518 ------- Comment #6 from mwmcmlln@mnsi.net 2006-10-17 22:45 MST ------- The system is 10.1, the original smart packages were installed from the 10.1 CD's, I have not added nor have I changed any channels. I did get the part where it looks like beta 10.2 software is involved. but, I know that the 10.1 rpm's from the for Smart and it associated packages were origianlly installed, and the gui did originally work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

This should help to get a cleaner setup. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
