http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=516230 Summary: YaST tool on SLES10SP2 modifies the /etc/hosts incorrectly in IPv6 environment Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SLES 10 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: linux26port@veritas.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.11 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) While configuring ipv6 address on a network interface using Yast tool, it shows incorrect entries in /etc/hosts file. After fresh OS install and ipv4 network configuration, the /etc/hosts file had the following entry: 127.0.0.2 swlx27.vxindia.veritas.com swlx27 I configured the IPv6 address on a different interface using yast tool. In the yast tool, I changed the hostname, DNS server name and domain name. IPv6 address is also assigned via dhcp. After the successful configuration of IPv6, the /etc/hosts file had below entry: 127.0.0.2 swlx27-v6.punipv6.com swlx27-v6 YaST tool should not correspond an IPv4 loopback address to an IPv6 hostname. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure ipv4 network interface 2. Configure ipv6 network interface on a different card on the same system using yast. 3.
