[Bug 1187851] New: plasma5-pk-updates KDE updater should show [Restart] button only after updates have finished
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1187851 Bug ID: 1187851 Summary: plasma5-pk-updates KDE updater should show [Restart] button only after updates have finished Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: silviu_marin-caea@otpbank.ro QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The KDE updater displays a [Restart] button as soon as it starts downloading an update that needs reboot, like a kernel update. Many users don't know they have to wait until the updates are applied and if they press that button, the desktop will exit, but the machine will not reboot, because there's a systemd condition that waits until updates are complete. The users might reset the machine with the hardware button or shutdown with long press of the power button. The [Restart] button should be there only after the updates have applied. Maybe the applet would raise a flag and check for it on the next run. That is: Run 1: - check for updates - download and apply updates that need reboot - raise flag - exit Run 2: - check for flag. show [Restart] button - check for updates -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
